The 19th annual Angel Venture Fair will take place at the Union League on Friday, May 5th. The AVF features 34 companies from a cross section of industries. There are 24 non-university and 10 student companies.
No longer is the United States alone in producing entrepreneurs. Countries such as China, India and Israel, to name a few, are developing world class companies. In order for the US, and in particular the Mid-Atlantic region of the country to grow economically we need to marry ideas with capital.
Along with the great companies that were selected from a pool of over `150 companies from 20 states and 5 countries vetted by over 50 expert judges, the keynote speaker will be former Angel Venture Fair presenter and author Alejandro Cremades.
The AVF program is a total community effort from start to finish, with every angel group in the Mid-Atlantic receiving pertinent information on the AVF and sending their members to attend & scout the fair. Applicants to the AVF are reviewed by 80 judges (made up of angels and conduits to angels) and 34 lucky entrepreneurs (out of hundreds) are selected to showcase their new venture on the day of the fair.
The Union League of Philadelphia is the oldest and most prominent of the remaining loyalty leagues.
